Retaining community sporting facilities in the east of the Island is "very important".
That's according to the Policy and Reform Minister who says work is ongoing to better understand sport and leisure requirements.
Chris Thomas was quizzed on the issue in the House of Keys earlier this week by Ayre and Michael MHK Tim Baker.
He said he was concerned a new draft plan appears to include the conversion of sports grounds for residential or employment purposes.
